These highly rewarding programmes will develop your critical understanding of, and expertise in, the tools, packages, systems and networks that allow us to manage, translate and exchange secure information in the office and around the globe.
BSC (Hons) ICT
In this course you will study a range of core ICT topics such as database design and implementation; e-commerce; Web technologies; multimedia; human-computer interaction; operating systems; system administration; and networking. To broaden your horizons further, you will cover other subjects such as project management; social, ethical and professional issues; information systems and their role in organisations. You may wish to combine ICT studies with another field. We offer three other ICT programmes with optional pathways giving you the opportunity to specialise in subjects from other disciplines.

General admission requirements for the course are 240 points (including Mathematics and English GCSE at least at C grade). A science related topic at A/S or A level is desirable. Entrance requirements will vary but are set after consideration of each applicant's academic background and achievements and all other relevant experience.
Applications are welcome from candidates with non-standard qualifications or who, lacking academic qualifications, have significant relevant experience. Alternatively, you may join this course following successful completion of one of the School of Informatics Computing, Informatics and Media's Foundation Year programmes.
Direct entry to the second year of the degree is possible for those with a very good HND or a Foundation Degree (FdSc) in a suitable subject area or equivalent.
In addition, if your first language is not English, a test of written and spoken English normally needs to have been passed at grade 6.0 for IELTS (with no subtest below 5.5) or for TOEFL (87 for the Internet-based test).
